D4 is for players sharpening their skills, improving their game IQ and showing flashes of potential. This is the space between learning and competing.
D3 players are consistent, confident and ready to compete at pace. You know the systems, the flow, and you bring it every night.
D2 is made for high-level players refining their edge, preparing for exposure and proving they belong in the top tier.
D1 is for the most dominant and skilled players in the league. This is where the game slows down, the lights get brighter and every move matters.

Where can I play adult rec basketball in Alberta?
BRODIE® runs adult rec basketball at four venues in Alberta. In Calgary: North, at Prolific Sports House North (292212 Wagon Wheel Blvd, Rocky View County), on Tuesdays and Sundays; South, at Prolific Sports House (8489 40 St SE, Calgary), on Wednesdays; and Central, at RISE Sports Complex (401 33 St NE, Calgary), on Thursdays. In Edmonton: Edmonton Sports Center (9892 47 Ave NW, Edmonton), on Sundays. You register for one venue and play your whole season there.
When does the Winter ’27 season start in Alberta?
Winter ’27 tips off on each venue’s first game night: Calgary North and Edmonton on Sunday, Dec 13; Calgary South on Wednesday, Dec 16; Calgary Central on Thursday, Dec 17. Regular season first, then playoffs, with finals between Feb 28 and Mar 4.
Which venue do I pick?
Pick the night, not the drive. In Calgary, North plays Tuesdays and Sundays, South plays Wednesdays and Central plays Thursdays. Edmonton plays Sundays. Same league standard at every venue.
What skill levels can I play in Alberta?
Every venue runs D4 Rec and D3 Inter. Calgary North also runs D5 Rookie. Calgary North and Edmonton also run D2 Comp. D5 Rookie is for your first time in a league. D4 Rec is for athletes who have played rec league before. D3 Inter is for years of pickup and competitive runs. D2 Comp is for athletes who played high school ball. Not sure where you fit? Do I need a team to sign up?

What’s included in a BRODIE season?
